Northra decision method
How Northra works: from source signal to outcome evidence
Northra connects six governed stages: qualify the source signal, trace dependency context, verify contractual eligibility, calculate and rank the available action, obtain human approval, and reconcile the outcome to evidence. Missing or unconfirmed evidence remains visible at every stage; AI may assist explanation and drafting but does not approve or validate the commercial result.

Six governed stages
The evidence path from signal to measured outcome
- 01
1. Source signal
Start from an approved market observation, contract event, transaction pattern, or operating exception with a known date, unit, scope, and source.
Evidence retained: Source identifier, version, observation time, unit, currency, licence boundary, and data-quality state.
- 02
2. Dependency context
Trace the signal through curated feedstock, intermediate, product, contract, and account relationships inside the permitted scope.
Evidence retained: Dependency-map version, relationship provenance, confirmation state, and affected objects.
- 03
3. Contract eligibility
Check the signed basis, reference series, timing, thresholds, constraints, and notice obligations required for the candidate action.
Evidence retained: Contract and clause version, source location, confirmation state, eligibility result, and timing reason.
- 04
4. Ranked action
Use approved inputs and deterministic business rules to calculate exposure and rank candidate actions without converting estimates into claimed outcomes.
Evidence retained: Calculation version, inputs, assumptions, uncertainty, as-of date, and ranking basis.
- 05
5. Human approval
Present the evidence, rationale, constraints, and proposed step to the accountable owner. Rejection and deferral remain first-class decisions.
Evidence retained: Owner, decision, rationale, timestamp, approval boundary, and export version where applicable.
- 06
6. Outcome evidence
Separate proposed, approved, implemented, accepted, and realized states, then reconcile realization to the agreed source and attribution rule.
Evidence retained: Action state, effective date, customer or operating evidence, transaction tie-out, attribution, and recovery-ledger entry.
Operating rules
Boundaries that remain true at every stage
- RULE 01Source, scope, period, currency, version, and evidence status travel with each material figure.
- RULE 02Absent evidence is shown as absent; it is not silently inferred or replaced.
- RULE 03AI can assist mapping suggestions, explanations, and rationale drafts only within approved boundaries.
- RULE 04Humans retain authority for confirmation, approval, export, customer impact, and realized-value validation.
- RULE 05Opportunity, approval, implementation, acceptance, and realization are measured separately.
- RULE 06Customer-specific data and private evidence do not become public marketing content.
